Dubai’s hot climate creates specific conditions for sports activities, and tennis is no exception. Since most tennis courts in Dubai are outdoor (with a limited number of indoor facilities), choosing the optimal time for training is especially important.
- Morning Hours: The most favorable time for training is from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The possibility of extending training beyond this period depends on the season and the availability of shade on a particular court. During the winter months, training often remains comfortable until noon or even later.

- Daytime: Between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, intense solar radiation and high air temperatures are present throughout the year. Training during this period is not only uncomfortable but can also be dangerous due to the increased risk of dehydration and heatstroke.
- Evening Hours: The ideal time for training is generally between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM. During these hours, air temperatures drop to a more comfortable level, and players can also enjoy Dubai’s scenic sunsets.
Training in the Summer Months: Key Considerations
The question of whether it is possible to play tennis during the summer months in Dubai is particularly relevant. The answer largely depends on individual tolerance to high temperatures. In June and August, training can still take place during early morning and late evening hours. In July, however, training is recommended exclusively on indoor courts.
Recommended Training Times by Season
- Autumn: 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Winter: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Spring: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Summer (June and August): 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Summer (July): Indoor courts are recommended.
